Switzerland and Gymnastics for All? A tradition!
Switzerland and the World Gymnaestrada? From day 1, a real passion! An important Swiss delegation has been taking part, since it started in 1953.
Switzerland as the organising country of a World Gymaestrada? A unique opportunity to take part in the promotion of the values of this discipline of Sport for All !
This is why the Organising Committee in association with the FIG, is pleased to present to you a new activity that it would like to develop during Gymnaestrada week: The Ambassadors Programme.
What is it?
An event in parallel with the World Gymnaestrada Lausanne 2011.
A programme of information, education and training.
The Ambassadors’ Programme will be addressing a range of issues that have an impact upon the important themes of the World Gymnaestrada.
The Organising Committee of the WG-2011 opens the doors to Ambassadors from FIG Member Federations that have never participated, or only a very long time ago, a chance to live a thrilling experience on site. This programme aims to convey the magic as well as to experience what happens behind the scenes at such an event. Ambassadors will live this event from a very special access to Group Performances, Forums and Conferences. They will also have the opportunity to visit some national and international sports organizations, as well as doing some unique networking. Thus, they will have the occasion to exchange and share knowledge with experts on any related matters.
This programme is specifically designed to encourage new FIG Member Federations to show their talent and participate in the next World Gymnaestrada and to embrace the “Gymnastics for All” movement, as well as its values around the globe.
In addition, the Organising Committee will cover the expenses of the activities of the Ambassadors (maximum 2 persons per country, travel not included).
With some countries already very interested in this programme, we think it will be a great success. Moreover, we should like to let you know the countries that are open to participating in this programme (see below list). We look forward to meeting you!
