All accredited persons must be in possession of an insurance policy, which is valid for Switzerland from the day of your arrival in Switzerland and through until your departure day, covering all emergency costs relating to sickness, accident and repatriation :

• People domiciled in a member country of the European Union (EU) or the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) must be in possession of the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), which constitutes a valid insurance.
• For people domiciled outside the European Community, you can take out a travel medical insurance in your country of origin to cover 100% of medical expenses in Switzerland, or agree to the insurance cover proposed by Mondial Assistance. In either case, you must advise us of the name of your insurer and the number of your insurance policy at the time you complete your final registration. You must carry your insurance certificate with you throughout your stay in Switzerland.

For participants who do not have such insurance cover, or for those who are not covered in Switzerland, Mondial Assistance, official partner for the WG-2011 can propose the following coverage for the duration of your stay in Lausanne : reimbursement of costs for acute sickness or accident up to CHF 50,000.-.
This insurance corresponds to the travel insurance required in order to obtain a visa.

The insurance coverage includes the cost of curative care with hospitalisation that is medically necessary and the transport costs to the nearest hospital (to and from), medical costs for curative care, which does not require hospitalisation, as well as the costs of medication prescribed by a doctor.
If the appropriate medical care is not available in Switzerland, the additional repatriation costs are also covered without limits.

The above-mentioned insurance cover must be valid from the time you enter Swiss territory until your departure.

To benefit from this insurance, all you have to do is read the general conditions of Mondial Assistance, send your personal details to your Federation and pay the premium that corresponds to the duration of your stay in Switzerland.

Please note that an important clarification must be added to this document:
"As a departure from article 7, Chapter G of the General Conditions (Guarantee of cover for the medical costs, and costs of recovery for guests) and within the scope of the World Gymnaestrada 2011, Mondial Assistance will cover participants’ hospitalisation costs, as long as these result from an event covered by Mondial Assistance as described in its General Conditions of Insurance. The doctor concerned must immediately advise Mondial Assistance, in order to obtain confirmation of acceptance, except of course in an emergency.

The number of days covered by the insurance already communicated is specified below.
