«  The World Gymnaestrada the most important sport for all event in the world. »

Juan Antonio Samaranch, Honorary Life President of the International Olympic Committee

The Gymnaestrada is the official world event of the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) for the Gymnastics for All discipline.

During seven days, gymnasts of all ages and backgrounds, men, women, disabled people, meet to share their passion and their talent in all domains of Gymnastics for All. This non competitive event takes place every four years in the country of one of the affiliated federations of the IGF and attracts over 20,000 participants from all over the world.

Apart from the fact that the event does not offer competitions or medals, the Gymnaestrada has another unusual feature for a sporting event: each gymnast covers his own expenses.

Its objectives are especially to:

  • Promote the expansion of Gymnastics for All around the world
  • Present the latest discoveries and the development of Gymnastics for All
  • Stimulate the happiness and wonder of the movement and arouse the interest in its own activitie
  • Get gymnasts together from all countries to contribute to the understanding and exchanges between the different countries.

This event is separate. Many gymnasts participate more than once in their lives.
It is a unique occasion to attend quality demonstrations of great originality, to continue one’s training, but above all to make contacts, to share an extraordinary experience, where solidarity, sharing, movement sport, well-being and friendship constitute the central values.
